These festive specials sit alongside some of our usual classics, with plenty to choose to suit all tastes.
Our homemade Christmas pudding is sure to be a hit with lashings of brandy sauce, but the dark chocolate and cherry brownie or the poached pear frangipane tart could be the winning desserts for some.
For groups of 9 or more, guests are invited to choose from our Party Menu. This is a set menu with 2 courses priced at £22.50 or 3 courses for £27.50. Plenty of festive choice including all the traditional options feature on this menu, which will be perfect for your office ‘do’ or when catching up with your wider family. We are very proud to announce that following a recent inspection, The Lamb has been accredited with the Cask Marque denoting the quality of our cask ale.
Cask Marque is an independent company, therefore their decision to award the Lamb with their seal of approval is fantastic, and our customers can be assured that we will continue to make the grade!
According to their website the Cask Marque team of qualified assessors visit over 10,000 pubs which hold the award. They test for temperature, appearance, aroma and taste. All beers must make the grade to pass the visit and obtain their accreditation. They report that independent research shows that over three quarters of beer drinkers recognise the Cask Marque as a badge of quality, which makes us even more proud to have our certificate on display.
As part of the scheme, we now have a listing on the Cask Marque website and their app, for discerning drinkers who like to check that the pub they are going to visit meets the high standards required to appear.
If you are looking for somewhere to experience some lunchtime fine dining in Sussex, look no further!
Fine dining doesn’t have to be exclusive to evening meals, at The Lamb we believe that a little lunchtime luxury is well deserved sometimes. Whether a business lunch, an overdue catch up with friends or a romantic liaison, The Lamb offers its full A La Carte menu at lunchtimes, alongside a lighter lunch menu.
Our talented head chef Richard is always hard at work crafting fresh and tasty menu items, meaning The Lamb’s reputation for fine dining in Sussex has grown rapidly. For example, why not starting your Lamb experience off with a delicious dish of home smoked salmon, white crab mayonnaise, lemon balm and beetroot.
One of our menu highlights is the roast breast and braised leg of Guinea Fowl with shallot, fondant potato and jus, but there are plenty to choose from with dishes to satisfy all tastes.
Of course you may not want a huge meal at lunch time, but this doesn’t mean you won’t experience fine dining – our lunch menu includes a wonderful set lunch with elegant dishes at just £15 for two courses or £19 for three. Sandwiches and light bites are also available.
If you have driven past The Lamb in the past week, you may have had your head turned by our wonderful new outdoor seating!
Martin has been busy in the past months designing, deciding and choosing the wonderful new tables, seating and umbrellas that are now situated in front of The Lamb overlooking our pretty village green. In muted colours, the bench tables along the front wall of the pub blend in wonderfully, but with a sturdy structure they won’t send your pint flying at the first sneeze. In front of the bench tables are a selection of round bistro tables with umbrella shades which are perfect for sipping your favourite tipple.
With such a warm start to the Summer we are really pleased we have got the new seating area ready for everyone to enjoy, and its been a huge success straight away. We are always looking for the little things that can make The Lamb even better and we hope everyone in the village loves the improvements we have made to our outdoor seating.
We regularly update our menus at The Lamb, our West Sussex gastropub situated in the village of Angmering, just a stone’s throw from the sea, the downs and market towns of Arundel and Chichester.
Changing our menus ensures we can offer the freshest, most local and of course seasonal ingredients to our visitors, who can expect something different each time they return. In addition, we regularly offer special dishes alongside our a la carte menu to tickle the taste buds of our regular diners, and first-time visitors, alike. Recent specials have included a starter of pork and pistachio pate, with a tomato chutney, dressed leaves and a toasted brioche, and a delightful pan seared duck breast with creamy mash, sautéed wild mushrooms and a red wine jus.
But new to our main a la carte menu this June are the following main courses:
Chalk stream trout, langoustines, confit potato, langoustine bisque
Seared Sashimi tuna, sweetcorn and avocado salsa, coriander
Roast chicken and tarragon croquette, caesar dressing, baby gem, crispy parma h
and a wonderful new dessert to add to those we already enjoy:
Banana parfait, caramelised banana, exotic fruit salsa
Our head chef, Richard, is always designing new dishes and has become very popular in the local area with many happy customers leaving glowing reviews for his cooking:
“Had another excellent meal at the Lamb last night! The fried duck starter with house made peanut butter was interesting, delicious and beautifully presented. And all the standards are executed with grace and top quality local ingredients. Bravo and keep up the good work Chef Rich and team!” Vanessa Hambidge via Facebook
We stock plenty of wine in Sussex at The Lamb
An extensive wine list is something we pride ourselves on at The Lamb, and we certainly don’t take the selection lightly. Finding wines to compliment our ever changing menu is a labour of love, and we like to think we’ve got a variety that accurately reflects a wide range of tastes. Here are some highlights from our current crop of wine in Sussex…
A salmon pink Champagne from France, with depth, freshness, and crisp aromas of strawberries, red currants, raspberries and black cherries. Expect fine bubbles and a persistent mousse.
Picpoul de Pinet Beauvignac
Elegant and floral, this golden white wine is perfect with seafood, such as our pan fried sea bass or monkfish.
A rosé aromas of red currants and orange zest, followed by a creamy medium-dry palate showing a nice balance of sweetness
Deep crimson colour with a bouquet of dark berries and spices. It is smooth and persistent with aromatic fullness

The Cheese Man in Hove helps make our cheeseboards delicious at our restaurant in West Sussex
As you may already know, local ingredients are a big part of our ethos at our restaurant in West Sussex, and that extends to every corner of our menu – including the cheeseboard on our dessert selection. We’re lucky enough to have a tried and trusted supplier of not only quality cheese, but cheese found locally, just a few miles away in Shoreham, in the shape of The Cheese Man.
The Cheese Man is a company with over 50 years experience in the food industry, and deliver a wide range of cheeses, charcuterie and gourmet products to businesses across Sussex in their fleet of specialist vans. One of the things we’re always excited to place emphasis on is that our cheeseboard features cheeses made right here in Sussex and the surrounding areas. They each have a unique flavour, so we’ve detailed each one below…
Brighton Blue – Made by High Weald Dairy, this is a mild, semi-soft cows milk cheese with a mellow blue flavour and a slightly salty finish.
Golden Cross Goats Cheese – Made by a family business based in East Sussex, Golden Cross is a soft, log shaped goats cheese. When young, the texture is firm and grainy, whereas as it matures, it becomes more like ice cream in texture.
Olde Sussex – This full bodied cheddar is made using a traditional recipe by The Traditional Cheese Company in East Sussex, and has an ‘open, bouncy texture’.
Tunworth Soft – Made just across the county border by Hampshire Cheeses, Tunworth Soft is a handmade British Camembert; soft, white, rindless and very much reminiscent of it’s French cousin.
You’ll find our cheeseboard on our a la carte dessert menu as the perfect way to finish off your meal. See our entire menu here.

A beautiful place to stay
Not only are the rooms decorated to a high standard, with vintage furnishings and plenty of homely touches, but the pub itself is also a historic building with lots of character. The village of Angmering is beautiful, set at the foot of the Downs and surrounded by places to explore, such as Arundel, Chichester, Worthing and Brighton.
Stay at The Lamb for the Arundel Festival 2018
If you’ve never been to the Arundel Festival before, you’re missing a treat. The whole town, which sits just under 6 miles away from Angmering, comes alive during it’s festival, and really brings out the best in this historical Sussex town. Arundel Festival 2018 takes place from 18th – 27th August, and with plenty to do for the entire 9 days, you might want to consider staying overnight – that’s where The Lamb comes in.
In terms of what’s on during the Arundel festival, there really is a whole host of different things happening that not only suit all ages, but make the most of the town’s heritage. There are treasure hunts, art trails, tours, markets, live music, street entertainment, boat (and duck) races, museum walks, and more. The buzz around Arundel during festival time is hard to beat, and it really does make for a magical break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
